Synthetic bristles for the modern artist

Why synthetic bristles are a good choice for the modern artist?

Today, synthetic bristles occupy a leading place in the sets of professional and amateur artists.

Why is this so?

Firstly, modern synthetic fibers imitate the behavior of natural materials (Kolin sable, badger, pig bristles), but at the same time have significant advantages.
Synthetics do not absorb water and oil as much as natural bristles. This means that the brush gives off paint better, the stroke is more controlled, and the color is cleaner.
Secondly, care. After the session, it is enough to rinse the brush with warm water with a drop of soap - and the bristles return to their original shape. Natural brushes often require special conditioners and much more time to recover.

Thirdly, durability. High-quality synthetics do not break, do not split at the tips and retain elasticity even after hundreds of hours of work. This is especially important for those who paint every day.
For acrylic, synthetics are almost ideal, because the paint dries quickly and can “cement” the natural bristles. For oil, they hold the oily pigment well and allow you to make both pasty and glaze layers. For watercolor, soft synthetic brushes give smooth transitions and do not leave lint.

Selection tips:

  • Look for medium-soft bristles - they are universal
  • Check whether the brush returns to its shape well after wetting
  • The handle should be balanced - the weight should not drag your hand down

Pigmentori uses just such a synthetic mixture - it has undergone hundreds of hours of testing in real conditions. The result is brushes that do not let you down when the idea is already at your fingertips.
